Practice Manager

 

Due to growth and future expansion plans, an excellent opportunity for a practice manager position to join our team. The practice manager will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients made up of various industries and turnovers.

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To manage smooth running of practice and lead daily activities of small professionals’ team
  • Be point of contact for clients & HMRC to ensure relationships are maintained to high standard
  • Managing a team of 4-5 individuals including their training and development
  • Managing your own portfolio in very much hands on role, you must have a good understanding of accounting standards, business & personal taxation, VAT and Payroll.
  • Contribute to the strategic plans of the business
  • Identify and explore the opportunities to increase business profitability in line with practice strategic targets.
  • Work closely with the team and ready to take and offer feedback and support as required
  • Achieve client’s satisfaction by always ready to help

 

PERSON REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • You will have at least 5 years of experience managing small to medium size client portfolio within an accountancy practice and be looking further to enhance your career with a professional accountancy firm
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies and be the key point of contact for clients and dealing with general queries
  • You will have to show case a professional approach towards client’s management, team building & development, job allocation and completion with given deadlines
  • You are required to demonstrate, through past experience, passion for delivering a quality service and the ability to ensure that client needs are met
  • Demonstrate the ability of business growth in a saturated market with innovative ideas and skills
  • Must be ICAEW/ACCA qualified or part qualified studying towards completion, with sound knowledge of IFRS, IAS and UK taxation knowledge and experience of compliance
  • You will have a career background in accountancy practice and must have a solid knowledge and experience in bookkeeping, VAT compliance, Payroll management, cash flows and budgets, preparing management & financial accounts
  • Developing the use of cloud accounting software and the ability to advise both clients and staff
  • Reviewing and completion of all work prior to partner review
  • The successful candidate will be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and at least one other language, including but not limited to the following languages: Urdu, Pashto, Persian.

Assistant Accountant

 

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Producing profit and loss accounts
  • Managing accruals and repayments
  • Assisting with transactional processing duties (posting and raising invoices, credit control etc.)
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Preparing internal and external reports
  • Reconciling bank balances
  • Preparing monthly Management Accounts
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting
  • Answering purchase/sales ledger queries
  • Reconciling supplier statements and payments
  • Helping to prepare tax returns
  • Preparing quarterly VAT Returns

 

 

PERSON REQUIREMENTS – ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • An ACCA or CIMA part qualification is essential, with a view to actively studying towards a full qualification. Advanced Excel skills are needed for the role, and previous experience in a finance or accounting position is helpful.An assistant accountant should have some of the following soft skills:

    • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

    • Willingness to learn
